For Time · 2017 Qualifier

CWG WOD 17.1

17.1 WOD Description

A scored workout combining a conditioning piece and a strength element with a fixed time cap. Movements include a barbell complex and a monostructural finisher, scored as total reps completed before the cap.

Notes

  • Score is total reps at the time cap, or the finish time if completed under the cap.
  • Tiebreak times may be required at the closest completed round.
  • Video is required for top placements and any score that could qualify an athlete to the main event.

Movement Standards

Full range of motion is required on every repetition. The barbell must pass through a full squat clean position; no power receiving above parallel. Double-unders must clear the rope twice per jump.

AMRAP · 2017 Qualifier

CWG WOD 17.2

An AMRAP ladder scoring total rounds plus reps within a short window. Athletes cycle through gymnastics and weightlifting stations, transitioning on the call of “rotation.”

Movement Standards

  • Wall balls must contact the target at the specified height for men and women.
  • Chest-to-bar pull-ups require contact below the collarbone.
  • Deadlifts require the bar to travel from the floor to lockout at the top.

Workout Variations

Every qualifier WOD ships with alternate tracks so athletes compete at an appropriate intensity.

Masters 45 and Up

Reduced loading on the barbell, shortened time domains where appropriate, and lower-skill gymnastics substitutions. Designed for Masters athletes aged 45+.

Scaled and Teens

Lower-load barbell options, single-unders in place of double-unders where used, and modified gymnastics movements for accessibility. Available to Scaled athletes and Teens competitors.

Variation Movement Standards

  • Masters and Scaled weights are clearly listed in the workout brief.
  • Range-of-motion standards mirror the Rx version of the workout.
  • Reps must be visibly completed to count on video review.

How WODs Are Scored

  • For Time workouts: total time to completion, or total reps at the cap.
  • AMRAP workouts: rounds plus extra reps counted at the final whistle.
  • Rep Max workouts: heaviest successful lift within three attempts.

Scorecards and supporting clips are checked against published standards. Athletes advancing to the main event are determined by qualifier performance across all posted WODs.
